A Data Protection Officer (DPO) is an employee or contractor hired to oversee a company's data protection strategy and ensure compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). The Data Protection Officer is responsible for ensuring that the organisation complies with the GDPR by acting as the data protection expert within the organisation and acting as a liaison between employees and members of the public who can find their information used and developed by the organisation.
